- I am a wife and mother. I am an American whose lineage stretches back to Native Americans, English and Scottish settlers in the 17th century, and German settlers in the 18th century. I am a 6th-generation Texan whose family tree is full of farmers and statesmen, entrepreneurs and lawmen, explorers and pioneers, community founders and elected officials, risk-takers and military leaders. I am a Republican who is dismayed at how far the party has strayed from its conservative values.
